Richard has 14 years of experience in management, supervision, surveying and reporting on biodiversity. He has worked with multinational companies, International Development Agencies, national, regional and International NGOs, the academia, multiple collaborations with government agencies and across the region. He has worked with Total E&P, an international Oil and Gas company in the capacity of Environment and Biodiversity Coordinator and as a Biodiversity Supervisor (Acting Head of Section) handling multiple national and international teams in the field of environment and biodiversity in relation to sustainable development in the Oil and Gas sector in Uganda. Under the International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Richard undertook a lead researcher role on a climate Risk Management Technical Assistance Project in Uganda with success. 

Richard has worked as a Project manager of the Albertine Rift Vulture Project under Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS), an international NGO with a niche in research and management of wildlife landscapes and resources. He also served under various research capacities producing multiple reports and papers under WCS. Richard worked with Nature Uganda – the Birdlife Partner in Uganda as a Project Officer and coordinator monitoring Uganda’s avi-fauna.

He has spearheaded several consultancies and conservation research projects in the region including Kenya, D.R.Congo, Tanzania, South Sudan, Rwanda, India and Ethiopia. He also worked closely with the Biodiversity Data Bank, led several ESIA teams in the field of wetlands resources (mainly in IBAs), Roads, Hydro-Power, Roads, Power-lines and Oil and Gas. He has written and published over 12 papers with regional and international scientific journals in the field of Ornithology, contributed to books and written several unpublished reports in general ecology and ornithology.
